PsychU Advocacy - Mental Health Awareness: A Focus on Suicide

We are fortunate to host professionals from PsychU Advocacy the third Thursday of every month. We hope you make these webinars a monthly must. Sign-up here: https://forms.gle/7HCvFWEdjXQcS5mM6

You will receive a calendar invite and an email reminder.

Course Objectives:

  • Review the suicide statistics in the US and the risk of suicide in psychiatric diagnoses

  • Discuss suicide risk factors and provide a brief overview of stigma

  • Share the patient perspectives on mental illness

  • Provide information on ways to combat and reduce stigma and highlight suicide prevention resources

At Walt’s Waltz we know that one way to reduce stigma and garner support from communities across the world is through education. We have seen this time and time again. If people are misinformed, biases and stigmas can prevail.

Walt’s Waltz is a compass and a megaphone for mental health support, education, and change.

Our vision: Physical Health and Mental Health are viewed through the same lens of compassion and fair mindedness.
