Please join Orgullo y Salud, the Hispanic Workgroup, for a meaningful community conversation today, January 13th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
We are honored to welcome Susan Crooks, Founder and Executive Director of Walt’s Waltz, a nonprofit born out of heartbreak and fueled by hope. Susan will share the story of her son Walt and how her family transformed grief into a powerful movement that brings people together to break stigma and create compassionate, supportive communities around mental health.
This gathering will focus on:
Sharing a heartfelt story that reminds us we are not alone
How creativity, education, and mindfulness can open doors to healing
The importance of safe, stigma-free spaces in our families, schools, workplaces, and communities
Why knowing about 988 and other mental health resources can truly save lives
Simple, practical ways each of us can support one another and help normalize mental health conversations
Susan’s message reminds us that mental health is part of the human experience, and that through community, compassion, and connection, even small actions can create hope and save lives.
This meeting will be held via Zoom, with simultaneous interpretation from English to Spanish, so everyone is welcome.
